I’ve done more testing without using Magic Bullet Looks. I’m only doing some effects within CS5, specifically a gradient type effect, and I get the same error when applying it. If the effect is turned off there is no problem.
I think the issue is when a gradient type effect or vignette is applied. It consitently happens to me.
If you want to replicate this yourself this is what you can do in CS5:
1) add a video effect – Generate – Circle
2) blending mode shoudl be NORMAL
3) set it to “invert circle”
4) set the Color to black
5) set opacity to 50%
6) apply a large radius
7) set the feather to a larger amount so there is a nice gradient effect
This creates a vignette effect and should have a nice gradient to black. I’ve applied the exact same effect to any other codec and i have no problems, only CineForm codec errors on me. I have no other effects but this gradient effect.
Still no work around for me. How have you worked around the issue? If it doesn’t get resolved soon I’m going to have to deal with very large mezzanine files in MPEG2 or something stable.
