For example: should the editor 1. work w/ the embedded scratch audio for the edit, 2. then sync the 8 tracks of audio (not sure the best way to sync after an edit), 3. Send to PT w/ synced multitrack audio
or
Should we 1. sync the 8 tracks of audio to every clip prior to editing 2. Edit (seems like it’d be clumsy moving around so much audio) 3. send to PT
or
1. edit w/ the rough mix 2. send to PT w/ no multitrack audio 3. Sync the multitrack audio in PT
None of these seem great; I’m hoping for a better way.

Cool, I understand that LEDs are LCD.
I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has experience with a low cost LED monitor. I wonder if I’d be better off with a low cost florescent-lit LCD or I’d be getting an equally bad monitor?

I thought about the fact that renters could damage the slider, but I figure the risk is relatively low and a slider is a lot less susceptible to damage than a camera or lens.
In live in a large metro area and so I would seek to rent it out locally only.
Looks like borrowlenses has a kessler pocket dolly coming Mar. 2; $77 for 3 day rental.

Andrew, you’re saying you edit on a 13″ macbook pro? What are the specs? Other than screen size, what are some issues or hangups you’ve run into? Do tell!
We’ve heard from a lot of people raising a stink over the idea of editing on a 13″ macbook pro, but not many who actually do it (and have lived to tell about it).

What did you end up going with? I’m in a similar situation trying to decide between a 13″ macbook pro and an older C2D 15″ macbook pro. I’d love to know how things are working for you.

Which computer did you end up getting? I’m in the middle of considering an older 15″ w/ discreet GPU and the 13″ macbook pro and I’d be really interested to know how it’s working out for you.
