You’re right, you can technically look at them all at once, but it’s simply too much visual information to try to make sense of all at once.

So far my plan is this: go through each angle one-by-one, cutting out the good material. Then, I’ll compile all my select shots and try to make sense of it from there. I’m hoping that will narrow it down enough that the best shots for a given section will present themselves without drowning in too many options.

    Thanks for the info!

We’re going to try the iOS-based solution, RecoLive Multicam. Might do the trick.

No problem, they’re not always easy to find.

Copy and paste your custom sequence settings found here:

    /Users/[username]/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/6.0/Settings/Custom
    and paste to:
    /Users/[username]/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/8.0/Profile-[username]/Settings/Custom

I haven’t dealt with custom Title Styles presets but you may find them in these same directories.

  • You have a point. I was hoping to save some money. Any tips on what gels I should look at?

After some research I found three of my four items. I haven’t figured out how to transfer Custom Sequence Presets yet.

Custom keyboard layouts: (copied from https://forums.adobe.com/message/5420587#5420587)
    Copy your .kys file from
    /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Pro/6.0
    and paste to
    /Users/[username]/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/7.0/Profile-[username]/Mac

    Custom Workspaces:
    Copy “UserWorkspace1.xml”, etc. from
    /Users/[username]/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/6.0/Layouts
    Paste to:
    /Users/[username]/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/7.0/Profile-[username]/Layouts

    Effect Presets:
Copy your “Effect Presets and Custom Items.prfpset” file from
    /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Premiere Pro/6.0
    and paste to
    /Users/[username]/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/7.0/Profile-[username]/Mac

    Other Preferences:
Copy the “Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs” file from and to the same directories to move settings like default transition lengths and other preferences.

Custom export settings (for Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder):

    I figured it out!

Set in and out points within Audition then click Edit > Ripple Delete > Time Selection in All Tracks and the markers move along with it.

Make sure the “Lock markers and metadata to the timeline” is deselected in the Markers & Metadata page in the Preferences.

Is there a way to batch-apply this process to several clips? For example, slow a bunch of clips down by 50%?

It looks like UCLA will not be an option for this fall – bummer.

Are apprenticeships a viable option? Any tips for finding an apprenticeship?

    Walter,

What variation of ProRes do you output to? ProRes 422? 422 HQ?

With DSLR based projects, I feel like ProRes HQ might be overkill. I did some tests comparing 422 and 422 HQ (from a DSLR project) and the difference was basically imperceptible – but I’m curious about your workflow.
