If one has Pages 09, one needs to delete the App – then trash it
then go to the App Store and select it there.

I just had to do that on a client’s KeyNote, as it was not playing nice with Photos.

PS – I have another client that refuses to get off Eudora because that is the only eMail client
that he has found that he can edit the Subject line in order to sort his eMail how he wants it and needs it.

    If I had a 256 GB SDD ….

    Oh, wait – I do!
I have one on my 2011 MBA!
Actually, it is only 128 GB, ….. very small…, and I fill it all the way up.

FCP X, Motion, Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, and a few HD utilities.
    And all there included files

    AND

I keep my music and my Photos on external devices.
Also makes it easy to switch that over to my iMac 2012.

So, 256 GB could do it.

I am considering either adding or replacing the drive in my iMac 2012 with a SSD.
It may be just the thing to give it new life and get rendering and compressing faster.

  • I have been running my iMac 2011 with a 1 TB drive with 2 patrons for years.
I did it because I still needed / wanted FCP 7 running … and yes, it is on Mountain Lion.

I have each on a 500 GB partition. I would think that 200 GB would be fine, yet have not done that.

Drive Genius is able to repartition a hard drive on the fly. The key part is that one first does a defrag
on the drive to tighten up all the files before the repartition. This could take awhile.

A carbon copy clone is recommended as a backup. Last week I did another clone of the Mountain Lion partition,
just for fun. I have not used FCP 7 in a few years, so it is just sitting there. I know as soon as I delete it I will get
    a call to use FCP7.
I have enuf room with 500 GB on the FCP X partition. Why? Because I put all media on external hard drives.
Sometimes I save output to the internal drive.

So, yes, I have successfully run both systems for a few years now.

Have you taken that file and attempted to run it on some other computer?
That might help – then output to some fresh codec.

have you attempted vlc player yet?

And then with Premiere Pro the next question is “CC” or “legacy”?

  • Seems the upgrade path is to the Panasonic DVX-200 – which is a 4k camera.

If I had that cash I would be looking at BlackMagic’s URSA mini camcorder – $3k base price
then add some stuff. The new one takes SD cards AND those new fast flash cards that remind
    me of the P2 days.

    I don’t reccomend Pansonic’s P2CMS – it worked okay – but now I am attempting to
open one of the databases that worked fine before and is not working now.

FCP X sucks up the footage fine and I can archive from there.

Did you ever resolve this issue?

My HVX200 has the problem where I cannot focus it even in manual focus mode.

I don’t know what to do and I am not making enuf money to buy a new camera
    or fix this old one.
