  • Good to know. Unfortunately, unlinking in FCP doesn’t unmarry the audio, since it’s showing as stereo. But I think I figured out the setting in Compressor that will convert it to Pro Res, as well as split the audio tracks.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Thanks for your response. What I want to be able to do is manipulate each track of audio, but right now mic 1 and mic 2 are married together and are appearing as stereo.

To answer your question, I doing something very rudimentary. I’m dragging and dropping the mp4 clips. Should I convert the clips to ProRes 422 and edit using that format?

    Thanks again for your help.

    Shane,

In Compressor, should I maintain the pixel aspect, PAL CCIR 601, or would it be better to change it to what most of my footage is in the project?

    Thanks for the help!

    Sincerely,
    Parisa

Thanks for the tip, Shane! I will try compressor to change the pixel dimensions.

To answer your questions, Dave: the footage is 16×9 at 720×576. And secondly, I still want to look good. But yeah, I understand that enlarging it would change the quality. Do you recommend anything that would give me a good balance?

    Sincerely,
    Parisa
