hello and thank you,
I am using a FCP 5.1, I have a firewire hub, and everything is externa, GRAID and Sound card, I haven’t had a chance to see if i have problems capturing cause i haven’t been capturing any material.
I am sorry but i do not know what spotlight is…..
do you think that is a power issue? I should probably get a firewire card…but how’s that going to make a difference if is still connected to the motherboard?

i checked an my files are all going to the Lacie. I plan to switch to a G-Raid soon.
as far as re-installing FCP….I reciecved the 5.1 upgrade…shall i re-install it from that disc or from the 5.0 and then re upgrade it? i have re-installing software and I am sure i am not the only one.

no i didn’t….and those files were on one track, meaning i didn’t have more than one with video on it.
i tried it again and it keeps doing it. i am starting to wonder is maybe a virus is causing this…. i know it’s a remote chance but….i really do not know, is as if the Lacie destroys them randomly.

Thanks Mitch,
I am using mostly DV footage and I capture it through a mini DV camera.
I am also using some QT.mov files and a couple of QT from After Effects.
I have final Cut studio 5.1, OS X latest update of tiger and a audio interface.

the system gives me the error window with 2 notes one says droppes frames the other is in red and says soemthing about the RT and the speed of the discs. But I haven’t been able to change that.

there’s my ignorance on the subject……I might know by heart but I do not know the difference between the two….(i came from Avid on PC to FCP on MAC not too long ago) the render bars are red and sometimes green.
Also I’ve moved more things from the internal HD to the Lacie.

I already do have it set up that way…..but I still get drop frames etc.
