I am trying to have some video freeze and then keep on moving, and I want to manipulate that frame. Now I’ve tried the time remap but it doesn’t come out right, I mean it freezes the whole thing. What am I doing wrong? or is there another way to do it?
    thanks

timeremap should do the job … but it’s hard to know where you are going wrong… maybe search around for some tutorials, I know there are a few floating around the net.

or, you could export a single from of the frame you want to freeze on.. then re-import it as a still…. ?

Not an expert, but here’s what I”VE done and it works. I create 2 identical layers of the footage. I drag the playhead until I get to the frame I want to freeze. On the top layer, I create a freeze frame. I drag the length of this frame the length I want. On the bottom layer, I split the layer (cmd shift d). On middle layer, which was just created, I drag that to the right until the in point of this layer corresponds to the out point of the freeze frame layer. Boom, you are done. There’s probably a way to do it with keyframes on one layer, but haven’t messed with it yet.
