IF your asking what is the Australian standard then its 240v – so this may not be ideal and depends on the device and its tollerance.

I dont think Procoder does 25mbps – could be wrong but im sure 15 is the max.

I switched to adstream years ago as I liked their online booking interface. I think the rates are probably similar to dubsat

TmpgEnc scares me though – Whist the visual quality is great, Ive heard a few say the audio is nowhere near as good. I might check it out though as Id luv to be able to go 25mbps instead of just 15.

The option I always use in Procoder is a storage MPEG which allows you to select a 422P@ML profile at 15mbps. I use adstream and whilst its true that 25mbps is their ‘stated’ requirement – Ive never had an issue sending them at 15.

Do you mean for encoding using a lower VBR (say 6-7mbps)in order to fit onto a single 4.7gig DVD? Do you use the 4x multipass VBR with this? If so I could see where the investment would be justified if maximum quality is the focus (as it should be)

out of curiosity, what would your encode time be for a 120min 4pass VBR encode job?

    Cheers

    Nor will you!

Dont be too quick to judge Adobe when Canopus had a hidden agenda with Edius. As it stands GVT now own Canopus and will be pushing Edius all the way. You will not see Support for Ppro2+ on Storms, NX’s r SP’s at all or any time too soon.

Lol – nothing like being 110% sure! Then again considering the price diference between CCE and Procoder, youd actually want to SEE that extra 10% somewhere.

Hi Peter – thanks for the response, very helpful and esentially what I thought but needed to hear. To encode our TVC’s I use Canopus Procoder2 with a master quality setting and CBR of 15mb/s. Is Cinema Craft a better option than Procoder? DOes it offer a wider choice of settings that would result in a better quality mpeg? Any chance you could let me know any special settings you use with CCE?

    Thanks again

OK not sure what i did but it was one of two things that seems to have fixed this issue. Either:

    1) updating to Windows media player 10

    or

    2) Updating my Nvidia graphics card drivers using the latest forceware drivers from the Nvidia website

    Weird
