I’m pretty sure the manual is simply a printout of the help file. Rummage around and you may find that there’s also a pdf on the installation disk, or it may even have been copied into the program folder.

There are no updates available from Adobe any more (unless you pay for the current version).

Oops, I see you did say the splash screen does not appear – so you get no message or anything whatever?

Installation problems are covered by free support, so if that’s a practical option for you, I’d take it. Alternatively, have a look through the technical support documents on the Adobe site for some troubleshooting advice. Installation problems can be due to so many different things, it’s very hard to pin down in a forum discussion.

But… if you do want to pursue it here, when you say it doesn’t launch, can you describe what does happen – nothing at all, or it puts up the splash screen and then exits, or what?

Effects > Delay Effect > Sweeping phaser – or the flanger – should get that kind of sound.

Which version of Audition? I’ve seen a discussion on the Adobe site forums where a user reported success with Audition 2.0 but I think there are problems with earlier versions with that device.

That’s kind, Willie. Even though I’m in Australia, I’m well away from the weather action, being down here in Melbourne – where the very pleasant state of the weather can be seen if you care to look in on any of the TV coverage of the outdoor events of the Commonweath Games! Hard to imagine that some folks have lost everything in the storms further north.

Exactly what are you doing to “subtract”?

Both versions should work much the same way, except that 2.0 has the lasso tool which allows you to select multiple irregular areas.

Right click in the frequency scale at the right of the spectral view for zoom options. Right click/drag there to zoom in on particular frequencies.

I work almost entirely on location recordings of classical music for subsequent FM radio broadcasts. Here in Australia the classical music world goes pretty quiet in the summer months (now coming to an end) so I’ve chiefly been dealing with the hidden part of the iceberg – archiving last year’s stuff and doing the paperwork on the upcoming season’s assignments – yawn!
