Yes, for me there is no joy yet. Outputting it straight made horrible clouds is FCP.

    Any other ideas?

I output the RGB+Alpha matte, straight, millions of colors for some text I generated in AE just as a test. Still very blocky. Any help? Sorry I can’t figure this d@*^ thing out, but I have to get it out today.

    Thank you!

What are the settings when saving a movie (as this text moves)? Do you output two separate output modules or one REG+Alpha? The text created has lots of glow and a 3D effect created in Illustrator, but the resulting alphas I rendered out looked horribly blocky.

Anyone else out there know any tricks to improve the initial aliasing that happens in Illustrator? And then continues a bit in AE–the object I imported int AE is also washed out. Any tricks for creating logos in illustrator and importing them into AE so they retain their look?

    Thanks for the help.

Thank you. Though I don’t have access to the camera. Any other suggestions?

Thanks I will try the scope. It is not being scaled up, I made it purposely big and scaled it down to avoid this. Any suggestions for dealing with red? Will it look bad on a computer monitor and then ok on a tv? I will burn it to disk now and try it.

I went back into photoshop and changed it to NTSC colors. The color is much fainter now, but still jagged. Any other suggestions of how to deal with red in text?

I am outputting 10- bit uncompressed to FCP HD. I sent the comp to the render queue…is there another way to output it? I put a small white border around it to help. But it is still aliasing badly on diagonals and curves.

Thanks so much for your help. I have to get this on a dvd today.

Would Boris also be your best suggestion for adding subtitles? Are there any other plugins that would do this job better? Agree that fcp text sucks to titles/credits in general.

Hello, Ok, I have the plug in. I step frame through the footage and see that AA and DD have the split frames. So I go back to cinema tools and try to reverse telecine but it only allows me to choose either AB or BB or CC or DD or DA. I have tried a few different times: DD and DA but what happens is I get a 24p with one split frame still left in it. Then I tried “Style 2” and it has D3A1 but the same result. I am so sorry I don’t quite get the instructions to do this…this is a definitely a learning experience.

When I asked the lab who scanned it, he said it was “clean cadence” so it should be easy to remove the pulldown.

    Thanks for your help.
