its FCPX making you work in ProRes timeline? even if I use your method it says: Source…ProRes h22…ummmmm???

so if i export H.264 I get a 999 MB clip…did it grew that much for the subtitles…?

i think i tried choosing a few with different fonts and it did make the change,,,not sure..i was in a hoary to finish and get up from my chair…

creating a style is useful if you know what you want to keep but if you are just trying to make a few adjustments it will get massy to make a style for each time you want to make a change..

I’m just saying..could be a feature to request from Apple…don’t you think?

my bad…i just found a way…selecting all of your text you can change properties of them all in the inspector tab..have way thru i thought about trying this..and voala..

doesn’t this option creates some new files and a new event? i really don’t like when back from Resolve that clips duplicate and new events is created…

is better than nothing..thou.

is there a list of what does go thru to Resolve 10? i think spacial conform doesn’t…will be nice to have a list of everything that works and that doesn’t.

a problem i have when i use xml to resolve is that when i come back from resolve it crates new event and the clips are all reconfirm to 720p so i can’t reframe if i feel like..this is just one example of troubles it creates…I usually edit in 720p with some clips at 1080p so i can reframe…so, i was scratching my head on how to avoid this mess..

Yes, plan ahead..that’s what i’m looking for.

I guess i should do a rougher cut than i was use to..(so i don’t have to undo a lot manipulations) make sure the spacial conform and reframing is what i want to and then take the Resolve route. wuao…ummm

i was thinking mage ingesting in Resolve with separate folders for 1080 and 720 and work in FCP with the exported Resolve clips…is this a bad idea? anyone doing this way?

well..I’m glad its me. will work on fixing this..i guess i have to try a few things to troubleshoot the problem. But this is what i mean…i have to spend extra time on something that was fine before last update. arrrr..time i don’t have a lot.

Do you mind me asking… do you have the files of your canon camera in the folder strutchure that comes in the card or you just copy the clips separate? I drop the entire content from the card straight to a hard drive..and they even have magic lantern folders in it,,,wonder if that’s the problem.

yes, i thought about reinstalling the app…but again..time.

I guess there is no reason why i shouldn’t download and try it. I haven’t thought of it cause i thought you need special blackmagic card and other stuff i can’t get right now. I’m working on iMac 2.5 GHz Core i5 with 4gb ram…didn’t think i had enough power for it..but maybe i’m wrong…I will download and try.

If i use Resolve…what is the workflow with FCPX? export XML? is that one of those deals as to clean the timeline of transition and effects before exporting XML and then send back and add them again? have to do so much research.

Yes, I rather stay inside FCPX too…but I’m looking for more control. Just for the shape mask and keyer and their ability to refine color correction plus they are keyframeable too…..that you can’t do with de color board in FCPX or looks.

So, if i wanted to use Colorista as stand along app…how will the workflow be? export XML? export the clips separate? export the entire timeline as a quicktime?

I’m wondering how it will be and if is worth the trouble. mean while i’m using what i have.
