Not sure if I am in the right area;

I don’t want timecode as much as I want to add a running clock like on the Cops shot on TV. A 12 or 24 hr clock running at lower right that SHOWS over the video, not just time stamped. When I added time code and sent it back to my DV camera, it looked like it would show up, but when I then sent it to an offline video editor, no clock showed.

How can I add a visual running clock to show time endurance?
