Thank you very much Michael, I’ve just get a look to the white paper but too quickly, probably I’ll found some other info there. But probably I can’t understand the meaning of those workflows. I mean, if I import any kind of video file into Avid, Avid will turn it into an mxf dnxhd, right? So why people prefer to transcode whit other programs like da vinci scratch or more? Are they faster? And talkin about .ale, the metadata stored into it, are refered to a specific file name and timecode indistinctly from the file type? I mean, I can copy the .ale merged whit the alexa’s pro res into the mxf folder and it will work? Or how can I create it through davinci?

    Thank you very much

I’ve got some problems using shotput pro for the c300 files.
I’ve tried both, filesize and md5 and it always give me an error log.
In the end I’ve tried whit a simple grag and drop and whit the canon utility, check size and open all clips by hand.everithing was fine. I’ve tried whit different footages, from different cards, on different hard drives destination and has been the same, offload error.
Maybe is just a stupid bug on shotput pro, i’m lookin’ over the net, but if someone here knows something…please post!

October 11, 2012 at 4:51 pm in reply to: EFI GTX 570 crashing on boot…

Just plug my new gtx 570 hd on a mac pro 3,1 early 2008.
It seems to works fine from the beginning whit latest cuda driver raccomenden by Blackmagic (5.0.36) and OSX 10.7.5
Now I’m trying to optimize the card for my system.
I’ve tryied to enable open cl and cuda cores via terminal for afx and premiere, but seems not work…
Resolve lite runs good, but the render time for a dpx from an alexa’s pro res 444 is around 10 fps…isn’t it a bit slow??? suggestions?
    thank u

The idea of a 2 inch custom panel souns good….maybe curved or stealth-style ahah!
I’m just joking, but i’ve to purchase the same card and I’m adjusting the aim to the right one…I prefer to use the 2x 6 pins connectors inside the mac, but I’ve found 2 versions of the 580, one whitout cables, it just reports a power consuption of 244W (sound strange for an acceleration card no???) and the other one whit a 6 pin and 8 pin cables…what does it means??I can decide to use one or other, or I’ve to plug both?? If needs both maybe an adapter cable 6-to-8 could be a solution?? I’m throb for use a screwdriver ahahah! Tnx everybody…

  • I get a look inside my mac (and a quick clean too!) and i noticed that my radeon 2600 don’t needs power connectors as i tought.
I have 2 6 pin connectors, and apple’s specs says “300w for every card installed” so I have to think both connectors gives 600W?
However, I’ve found 2 versions of the 580, one that don’t reports about cables but just a power consuption of 244W, the other one reports about 2 connectors, one 6 pin and one 8 pins.
Does it means that the first one don’t needs supply via cable?? (sounds really strange for a card build for graph acceleration)
And the second one? Means that one can choose between the 6 or 8 pin cable, or needs both? I begin to feel an electrician instead a D.I.T ahahahah!
    thanx everybody for help…..

  • Tnx toby, I’ll check ’bout power consuption & connectors…
Just for ask, how many frames per second your system can handle whit an alexa 444 pro res? People here speak ’bout 50 fps rendering on resolve lite whit the 580…
