Most of the time I relink to an edl in resolve, be sure to check Source File in comments in EdlManager. In Resolve you have to check “assist using reel numbers from the: Source clip file pathname” and insert */%R???? as Pattern. This will remove ‘.mov’ from the reelnames, so it will relink to the rushes.

Another way is relink to ama files then transcode your edit to the highest codec (with handle if you want) and export to aaf. The downside to this is that relinking back to ama footage can be a bother.

    Hope it helps!

Just did two jobs with the c300. First I used the Xf utility, that gave weird artifacts in Avid so I’m never using that again, unreliable. Straight importing into resolve 8.2 gave a lot of artifacts and made resolve crash a lot. So I decided transcoding the clips to DPX, which is a hassle in resolve because you can’t put them in a batch. In short: can’t wait for an update!

I have a Cubix installed in slot 2, with 2 quadro’s 4000. When I check PCI cards in system info, it gives an error, probably because of the cubix. But in Graphics/Displays it says 8x for both of them. So that seems to be working allright.

I’m curious, where can you see that?

I use a very simple workflow for grading 5D out of Avid:

    – output an EDL, check Source File in the Comments tab

    – In Davinci Project settings check Assist using reel numbers, Source clip file pathname, Pattern: */%R????This will make the filename your reelname by removing the last 4 charaters (.mov) with ???? after R. Very cool!

    – Browse: import all your 5d footage (raw camera files) into the Media Pool

    – Conform: Load edl and you’re done. Grade the raw H264 files!

Thanks! Pretty stupid, overlooked the conform rate.

Have you tried using EDL instead of AAF?
