OK I found one like that. I could not get the check box to stay off even after aplaying, when I double click again it still is checked. So I just left it in the v1 track and then I can force render it.
I will find out how many times I have to do this later tonight.
Seems like a bug.
Thanks again.

OK I found a few with yellow tops, how do I turn off alpha?

That sounds like what may have happened. What is the color I should look for?
Middle third just exported OK.

Yes that is what I am doing right now (Rendering parts).
After checking RAIDS with DW. All the partitions are good (RAID level 5 12 drives with 1 hot spare).
I think it may be a bad media file, that I can live with. a complete timeline would not be good.
So far the last third has rendered OK. Doing middle now after first third failed. Process of elimination I guess.
Thanks for rapid response.

Have you tried resetting the back focus.
I had to do that twice after I got a new lens from Sony.
It is really easy, it is in manual. All you need is a BF chart and invoke the menu item. It is done in 15 seconds, all by itself. Much easier than normal ENG lenses by hand.
Below is a link to chart.

Great video I just finished breakfast, and now I am hungry again.
The audio seems fine level is just low. If you normalized the compressed video stream to 100% it would be good and loud.
I use Squeeze but Compressor will do that as well, this is on a Mac. I know Squeeze comes for PC as well, and I am sure there are other software compressors that do this on PC’s.

Try different shutter speeds.
I have found that some christmas lights that are white show up as red blue green and white. I think those were LED lights. It looked good but was not what I was shooting, the client pointed it out to me as we were reviewing the footage in the editing suite. The lights are very small in the shots, 9 pixels or so.
I guess this is just a rolling shutter thing.
Remember the vertical line from some CCD’s on beta cams when a bright was in the shot.

I was really appalled by the tripod mount on the EX3 I posted about it a few months back.
I got this plate and Toe Piece for VCT-24 and VCT-U14:
https://www.vfgadgets.com/grip-camera/ex3-heavy-duty-base-plate-system
From Canada and it completely solves the problem, and now I use my old Sony VCT-24 base on my miller solo sticks.
I also made an additional side plate to hold wireless mikes, I will post a photo later.
Now the EX3 has a rugged feel and true quick snap-in for the fluid head.
After hauling BetaCams and DSR500 around for years I love these new lighter cams, and the quality of the footage is astounding.

I had the same exact problem with an EX3, back in September.
My dealer sent the lens back to Sony and gave me a loaner 1/2″ lens, so I could keep using the camera.
Sony sent me a brand new lens 10 days later. It has worked great ever since.
