Thanks David, the mac I am using is pretty fast 3.2Ghz Quad core intel (8Gb memory) and plays the pro-res quicktime .mov and the re-compressed .mp4 fine, it could be something to do with the internet connection, or maybe Flash?

so for example the layer is 10 seconds in duration and the expression would allow me to set the scale start point at 90% and finish at 100% which as the layer is 10 seconds it would take 10 seconds to complete the animation, however if I change the layers duration of the layer to 5 seconds it would complete the scale animation in 5 seconds.

    Does that make sense?

    Thanks for your help

I have dropped the footage onto a new sequence and clicked yes ‘change sequence settings to match clip settings’ so they should match up exactly… or have you had occasions when this function doesn’t work?

I haven’t used clip browser to copy files before I’ve just gone straight into XDCAM transfer to convert the files. Should I be adjusting my workflow?

I’ve checked through the files and they are playing fine through QT, though I only have 2Gb spare on the drive I am using, may that be the issue? Finally, the blockiness doesn’t necessarily happen in the same place and if I render sequence it sometimes disappears or appears in a new place. Really odd.

    Hi mate

Thanks for trying to help me out, here is the relevant info

    3.2GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    8Gb 1066 MHz DDR3 memory
    XDCAM EX 1080p25 (35Mb/s VBR) 1920 x 1080 (1888 x 1062) Millions 16bit-Integer (Big Endian), Mono 48kHz

Also, the files don’t open up in Clip Browser but I am new to the software, I normally use XD transfer so I may be doing something wrong.

Is there any other info you need from me?

    Many thanks

    Cheers Paul

    Hows about this:

Really should I be looking at eSATA or something a bit more robust and take the financial hit?

Just found this, which is exactly what I need:

fadeInTime = .5; // fade in time (seconds)
    fadeOutTime = .5;

    Math.min(linear(time,inPoint,inPoint + fadeInTime,0,100),linear(time,outPoint – fadeOutTime,outPoint,100,0))

    PERFECT!

I’ve just had a look and there were some differences, so I have created a new sequence and dropped a clip into the new sequence and clicked yes to the match sequence dialogue box, I then pasted the old timeline into the new, but it still seems to be doing the same thing, again in different places.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks
