just tried what you recommended without success unfortunately.

in the folder that i am trying to open in the AFX project and sound in AIFF format.

i double clicked on the AFX project (and tried the other way listed above) and a box comes up saying

“After Effects: this project must be converted from version 5.0 (windows) and will open as an Untitled project. The original file will be unchanged.”

then i click ok, new box.

“after effects warning: 1 file missing since you last saved this project.”

click ok again

the project comes up in the project side bar with the .aiff file missing, i got back into the folder to add it into the composition again and

“after effects error: the file format module could not parse the file

(45::35)”

and then back to square one again =(

any thoughts now?
