  • Just asking “Samsung TV” is too broad. There are tons of type/spec.
Look the specific spec for that TV in Samsung website, there should be ( i hope) a spec for video.

If you have MochaPro, they have remove module.
In remove module, use/create multiple clean plates every x frame, edit the plates in PS.
Yes, you can do this manually in AE/PS, but it’s easier in MochaPro IMO, faster workflow (at least for me).

Browse the Imagineer System site for clean plates tutorial.
    Here’s the low-res result.

    Note :
I will remove the result if you didn’t want your sample footage being publish in this forum by someone else (me).
Just tell me, and i will remove immediately.

June 10, 2016 at 11:45 am in reply to: Frequent bad exports from Premiere and AME CC2016

This might not be helpful, but i encounter similar problem as you (failed export) in the past (CS 6 ? CC ?..Honestly i forgot).
No problem in sequence timeline whatsoever, even can render preview.
And it failed to export at random frames/time.
Even then, the render using preview is glitchy, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Turn out the culprit is because i use a mixed codec in timeline that Premiere didn’t like (but not reporting error)
The culprit was a M2T files that coming from Sony HVR-Z Series (i forgot which version).

To be fair, the camera that being used is old (perhaps firmware issues ?), and it’s being service couple of times (sensor issues).

After converting the problematic files into “regular” codec (ProRes/Cineform/DNxHD/H.264), it solve the problem.

Also, i recently have issue with CC2014 that failed to render certain mixed codec files (DNxHD files that overlap with Cineform with Alpha were offline on export), turns out the issue is within dynamic linking in AME.
So i disabled “Import Sequence Natively” on AME, and it work again.

Showing sequence in Project panel, right ?
    Use metadata search,
File | New | Search Bin
    Or
Right click in project panel, then select new search bin.

Change to “media type” then type sequence.
    Voila !

    You can add me,
I won’t put my FB URL on this forum, but you can google it.
My name is unique, so it’s really-really small chance you mistakenly add someone with similar name.

But i rarely use FB, also i don’t consider myself an expert. Especialy when it comes to MoGraph/AE.

  • Marked solved then, perhaps it may helps a user in the future with similar problem.
Also, yeah Creative Cow is weird.
You can actually edit your post by replying to yourself, BUT instead of posting new post, scroll-up, you will see an edit button.
    I know, it’s weird.

June 8, 2016 at 5:52 pm in reply to: How can I crop a triangle in Premiere CS6

Sorry, i can’t help you further.
I tested it (using CC 2015) and it worked, either with 2 track method (Track Matte) or with 1 track method (Image Matte).

The two thing that might happen in your case is either :
    1. You use the matte effect incorrectly.
    2. Bug in CS (i don’t own CS 6 ) so i can’t test it, but i highly doubt this is a bug. Matte effects is often used by editor, if there’s a bug back then, it should be fixed.

If possible, you can make a fake project files, maybe using a simple jpeg that you mentioned and a bar/tone as the footage.
Send me the project files (because CC 2015 can open older version), including the jpeg matte that you created.
Maybe i can point out where it went wrong.

  • I just realize one thing, you actually gonna edit a 20 hours of footage ? O_o

I work exclusively on windows, so i guess i cannot help much.
Also by the fact the longest i make and edit is a 3 hours long.

Perhaps it’s RAM issue (a.k.a not enough RAM) ?
Perhaps you can view how much Premiere take the RAM ?

Btw, Premiere sequence limit is 24 hours. Perhaps this is the case ?

But my best guess is this :
The video is in variable frame rate, which mean, when you playback, Premiere try to playback in constant FPS.
So there is an additional background process (a.k.a Premiere compute things)
Given you have huge and long footage, i guess it’s taken toll on performance.

Try to interpret footage first, if not helping then try to convert that into constant fps first. Perhaps it helps.

  • Download mediainfo, install, then drag&drop the problematic footage in that app.
    https://sourceforge.net/projects/mediainfo/

    Change the view to “Text”

Copy-paste the result into pastebin, or screen cap if it’s too hassle.

    Post the result here

It may have to do with the codec or bitrate.

But most likely your machine isn’t powerful enough to playback at real-time on “heavy” footage.

    Also post your spec:
CPU, RAM, Working Drive (i assume your footage on different drive than the “system” drive).

That being said, i never import footage larger than 1 hour.

Also, to answer your other question, yes there is a way to split outside Premiere.
    Use MP4Box (command line),
    https://gpac.wp.mines-telecom.fr/mp4box/

Or if you prefer with GUI, there is My MP4Box GUI
