How can I crop a triangle in Premiere CS6
Hi there
My purpose is to have 2 layers, One above the other.
the top layer is cropped in a triangle shape and the bottom layer is shown behind it, both 100% opacity.
I tried to create a black frame and cut a triangle in Photoshop, to save it as a PSD file and I got a good triangle crop on the top layer. the problem is if I when to see the layer behind it. I tried all the blending modes and none of them gave me a perfect 100% opacity triangle on the top layer and 100% opacity on the background layer
I remember that in FCP it is super easy to make this triangle crop. But can’t find it in premiere CS6
Any ideas?!?!?!? -

Buy the way I found the Image matte key and tried to use it
But it doesn’t work well. When I import a Jpeg with a white triangle on a black background I get a black frame. Even after I change the Composite to Luma the clip is just black and the crop doesn’t work… -
If you use 2 track (and one is act as matte), then use Track Matte Key
Image Matte was used if you want to matte the footage directly into the footage (there is an option to load the image matte)——————————————

Sorry, i can’t help you further.
I tested it (using CC 2015) and it worked, either with 2 track method (Track Matte) or with 1 track method (Image Matte).The two thing that might happen in your case is either :
1. You use the matte effect incorrectly.
2. Bug in CS (i don’t own CS 6 ) so i can’t test it, but i highly doubt this is a bug. Matte effects is often used by editor, if there’s a bug back then, it should be fixed.If possible, you can make a fake project files, maybe using a simple jpeg that you mentioned and a bar/tone as the footage.
Send me the project files (because CC 2015 can open older version), including the jpeg matte that you created.
Maybe i can point out where it went wrong.——————————————
