Update: It works again!
Putting the videofiles on an external hard drive didn’t help, but it did help to make a back-up of all my files, format my entire pc and reinstall Windows. Apperently, that was the only solution.
Appreciate the help though.

I tried running it again and this time, it seemed like the increasement of virtual memory actually helped. Now I was able to work for a few minutes before it crashed. The only problem then was that most video fragments I played on the timeline just showed a screenshot of it. I could here the sound, but not see the video.
I’ll try buying another hard drive to solve the problem completely, I’ll let you know if it worked. Thanks for the help!

I had 3600 MB virtual memory and I changed it to 8000. Also, I downloaded Vegas 9.0e, but my problem remains exactly the same.
Is it very likely that using only one hard disk is the origin of the problem? If that’s the case, I’ll have to buy another one. Anyway, thanks for the advice!
