I have tried lots of combinations but the one I use the most is the Adobe Media Encoders WMV9 720 25P default which is 2 pass variable constrained, average bit rate: 5.000 and peak 8.000.

This is the setting that has worked the best but does still degrade the quality of the titles. I don’t use .WMV that often so I

The file is for computer use only, I don’t know alot about codecs/ compression so it would be useful to know what other codecs you would recommend. I was using MPEG2 because the onscreen subtitles looked best in this format.

Any advice would be really helpful, I am currently using a basic Premier Pro 2.0 setup.

I would say the only noticeable aspect would be the sharpness, it’s just a little softer. I’m not sure if it is a setting that I haven’t got right but personally I’ve been a little under whelmed by it’s SD performance. 16:9 is definitely the way to go though, it’s much better.

I just posted asking almost the same question. In my experience of shooting with my A1 indoors and out, SD 16:9 footage looks much better than 4:3, but not quite as sharp as my XM2.

Thanks for the advice, i’m glad that i was in the right ballpark – better to go over than under on the specs I suppose!!!

As for the three disk setup, sounds like a great way of doing it although I don’t know how – sure i can figure it out though.
