Hi.
I am a Portuguese DIT that works in Portugal in the called advert “service” market, which at the moment is totally at zero movement.
Lots of jobs booked for March have been cancelled,
and all the cinema/commercial shooting industry here in Portugal is stopped, “service” or national market.
My last job was in 25 of February and since then….zero.
Now I ask, how can a DIT work from home? If a DIT works on a set….? All this situation sucks!!! I wish you all the best!!! Cheers.

Hi,

You have to use Arri Meta Extract.

It’s another app. Go to Arri’s site and download it.
I use this one when I want to export the metadata.
On Arriraw converter I can see it but I never try to
export it.
Regarding the ALE file,
when shooting in arriraw if I’m not mistaken it’s not like if you were shooting in ProRes, which generates an ALE and XML from that reel.
To have an ALE file from arriraw footage, you have to have a sequence of that footage in order to be able to export an ALE…as a DIT I use DaVinci Resolve, but I think you can also do it on Premiere. Don’t know if FCP does it.

It’s been a while since I left FCP7….so I don’t remember the settings….but have you search for something like “legal colors”? or “broadcast safe”? Or even some timeline setting? Obviously it’s on the timeline side…if you can see it well on the player side….

If I build a codec of my own, and if I don’t “open” it to everyone, no one will use it….just me….right?
ProRes Raw at this time is useless, How can I use it if I can only open it in one software?
ProRes Raw it’s just a good idea….

Hi,
You can always do an “opposite” match frame on the clip
If you do a right click on the still. But you have to be positioned
on the right clip…because if not nothing happens…
and then and the most basic one…
you can always give names to your stills….right?

Go to media tool,
click in the clips with right click and check their format…

put in square to obtain the original clip size.

Hi,
the fact being a beta version means that is not a FINAL version?
I work as a DIT and i’m starting a new job tomorrow…
is it safe for me to upgrade before this job?
or it’s better to wait…
