Thank you very much for the quick response. Here are screen grabs of the 3 buildings. I want to be able to put text on the building and have it match the contour. If I have it scroll (up,dan,lt,or rt) I also want it to follow the contour of the building.

So I figured out why I had the previous problem. It starts at beginning of the clip. I guess my real question is how do I start the shatter deeper into the clip as opposed to right off the top of the clip?

I have not, but that doesn’t mean much because I am very new to this search. All of your help is valuable and appreciated. I have been passing this up the chain and talking to the people that work with our system to see if the fit is right. I want this transition to be easy but I also want this workflow to be exactly what we need.

I would imagine our cap is around the $50,000 mark but I’m just speculating. We do not need any of this for realtime playback or live television. This is straight archiving and retrieval on a 3-5 computer network.

Thanks for the response Brent. We just decided to invest in a monitor but I was trying to get it locked in without it first. I have used the autofocus assist and it still seems a little soft. I have not cleaned the sensors but I think that may be my next step. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for these tips. Not sure how to adjust the sharpness on my camera though. As far as resizing the image, I meant I would increase the size of the window in FCP to view the video. I am shooting in 1080p. The video seems quite soft to me but I’m not sure if its the sensor or just the way it is supposed to look. I’ve tried autofocus and the magnifier to check my focus but it still seems soft. And ‘m sure its not my eyes!! If you have any suggestions for camera settings I would be quite grateful. I started using DSLR professionally only 3 months ago and I am eager to learn more. Thanks for your help Steve.

Thank you for your help. I am actually using the 422(LT) for a final render so I have a nice final project. Its just taking a very long time for those 10+GB files to transcode to MPEG-4 and I want to make sure there’s not a faster way to accomplish this without sacrificing any more quality. But you answered my question on that , so I thank you.
