Mike, as usual, the Vegas forum is a lifesaver.

I called the local Home Depot. They said they have a foam-backed ‘floating vinyl’ flooring, on which the backing is pretty much a light-cream-colored off-white foam as it is. She said it should roll and unroll real easily, and I might not even have to paint it.

It sounds like I need to get in the truck, and go check it out 🙂

I’ve re-used tapes, but I don’t ever trust it. Also, it does not automatically mark the breaks in between the tapes, so I end up with one long capture, instead of smaller ones.

Personally, I just wouldn’t do it, unless it was test footage, or something that was not that important to me.

We are anticipating 80% of all views online, so my editors both said I am doing fine with my present HF S10. So due to budget reasons I am returning the camera for now, at least until they come out with a model that does not have a 12-minute limit (because I shoot more than 12 minutes at a time a lot). Perhaps by then they will also have the audio issues figured out, and may have it on a normal camcorder body.

Sighhhhhhhh……… I really wanted that camera….

I should probably add that Divide.Frame is $95.00, and it is supposed to accelerate AVCHD editing (only).

In contrast, Cineform NeoScene is 99$US from https://www.videoguys.com, and not only do you get accelerated AVCHD editing, but you also get the Cineform codec, which is supposed to be far and away the best. So from some points of view, Cineform is a better deal.

I am not a Vegas expert: I am just repeating what I heard.

I use Cineform NeoScene, and like it.
