[Stephen Mann] “How is the Shuffle Tool any different from just moving events on the timeline with autoripple turned on?”
With ripple on, selecting one event and trying to move it in front of the event to its left will drag everything to the right of the selected event over the top (covering) of the one event you are trying to scoot by.
Move to the right and it leaves a gap. All events to the right of the one being dragged move with the dragged event.

[Forest Anderson] “Basically what I’m asking is how would I go about doing this in premiere: “
I think you must have meant how to doing this in Vegas and not Premiere. Yes/No?
You used the word. Sequence, in your description. Vegas does not have something like sequences in Premiere. Vegas does have nested projects which might fit the bill.
In a project load and get everything lined up how you want. Now save that project. You can now create a new project and import the saved project directly to your timeline, just like a media clip/file.
You can always, re-edit and change the original project from the timeline by simply right clicking the media/event and select, Edit Source Project.
You can get more information about nesting projects in the help file. Help topic, Nesting Projects.

I cannot find any 5D mkiii 1080 All-I video to download and test on my machine.
I can render an XAVC Intra 1080p30 file and that plays fine with a gaussian blur effect on Best Auto.
This file is very close to the 5D specs, but of course not exact.
114Mbps (a fair bit higher than 5D), CABAC=No, All-I, 1080p, 29.97. -
Yes, that is what MediaInfo says about a Quicktime file.
A little further down in MediaInfo we see this for DSLRs/digicams
Video
ID : 1
Format : AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video CodecThe only items I know for sure Vegas bypasses Quicktime when given a QT MOV file is when the video is AVC and the audio is PCM. My Canon 7D DSLR, Canon digicam(s) and a downloaded GH3 file all confirm this.
In Vegas for Canon 7D and Panasonic GH3 files in the media properties, general tab, Vegas says…
Plug-In
Name: compoundplug.dll
Folder: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\compoundplug
Format: Sony AVC
Version: Version 12.0 (Build 770) 64-bit
Company: Sony Creative Software Inc.With I load a Quicktime ProRes file I get
Name: qt7plug.dll
Folder: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\FileIO Plug-Ins\qt7plug
Format: QuickTime 7
Version: Version 12.0 (Build 770)
Company: Sony Creative Software Inc.Quicktime is a PITA so it makes sense to bypass it for the most common formats, which Vegas already has internal support like AVC. Just about every DSLR and digicam out there tends to output MOV files with AVC video.

[Graham Bernard] “Well, now, we’re needing to look at the Quick Time Codec.”
Vegas bypasses quicktime for MOV files with AVC video and PCM/AAC audio. They publicly state this on their website, aka native support for…, and I can load my DSLR file without Quicktime installed.
You can tell if Vegas is using QT by looking at the file I/O plug-in Vegas will use to read the file. From the project media window, right click, select properties, then go to the general tab and scroll to the bottom.
For the DSLR file it should be using compoundplug, it it is using QT it will be qt7plug.

[Philippe Gaudens] “I edit videos from CANON 5D markIII”
I don’t have a 5D MkIII and probably not others. We need to know what the exact video format is. What does the MediaInfo utility say about those files. It is a free program you can download.
I do have a Canon 7D and they are MOV files with AVC video at 44Mbps, PCM audio for 1080p30. I can put a gaussian blur on one of these clips and it plays back fine GPU ON or OFF with one exception. Best Full, GPU OFF, in my half sized preview window which is a waste. Best Half/Auto is fine. I normally edit Preview Auto/Half.
Do you get different performance with GPU turned off?

In fact, after a bit more testing, it seems the only cases I ever notice such severe macroblocking inducing behavior is with YouTube downloaded videos”
Youtube/Vimeo files are low bitrate. Your D7000 and other camera files are high bitrate. Video quality always comes down to bitrate.

April 6, 2014 at 12:21 am in reply to: Transfer Newblue Titler Pro event to use OFX version of Titler Pro?If the event does not automatically transfer to the OFX, and it probably will not you can go to the file menu of Titler Pro and save your event settings as a Titler Pro project file. Then load the project file into your new OFX event.

Vegas is GPU agnostic since it uses OpenCL. OpenCL can be implemented on a GPU or even a CPU. Your system has an OpenCL driver for the CPU but Vegas does not put it in the list of OpenCL devices.
I would expect that the Vegas 13 compatible GPUs will be the same list as the Vegas 12 compatible GPUs. Why would it be any different?
The real thing is the SCS must get their bugs trimmed down, and Nvidia and AMD need to get their OpenCL bugs trimmed down. Only if BOTH get it under control will we get stability like with CPU only.

Vegas, v10 on, uses the Cineform SDK to directly access the Cineform codec.
The GoPro studio you installed is very new and Vegas 10 is very old. I wonder is some things have changed in that interface between then and now.
Have you contacted GoPro Cineform support.
https://cineform.zendesk.com/homeI also have GoPro studio installed, but I have Vegas 12 on Windows 7 and it works fine for me.
