I don’t know if you still need help, a year later, but I’m guessing your sequence settings are incorrect. Go to Sequence -> Settings and adjust them.

This is a pretty elementary question, but how do I move the force to the front of the layer? I’ve been trying to for the past couple hours and can’t figure it out.

I’m using the built-in forces, not a gradient. I’m using both forces… I didn’t realize I could use only one.

Also, by moving backwards I mean I have the piece scaling down so as it appears to be moving farther away. At a certain point, I want it to shatter while it’s moving backwards; however while it’s being pushed backwards, it stops.

Is there any way I can get the piece to shatter without it exploding or being pushed backwards by itself and that way I can just use the scale function to make it look like it’s exploded backwards? I think it might have to do with the scaling and the shatter effect together which is causing the odd pause, but I can’t figure out why.

Woah, great. Thanks man. Also, how do I slow down the initial shattering. My shatter seems to explode quickly and then slow down. How do I make it shatter at the same speed?

Are you suggesting to use the ramp effect to make all the pieces fall inward together? I thought there might be an easier way of doing this–a quick adjustment of the settings.
