There’s an easy setup for 24p with advanced pulldown already you could use too- but your settings are already correct.

Please don’t waste our time with the same bunch of basic questions you’ve already asked here. You need to read the manual. If you can’t be bothered to spend the time, why should we…

I shoot out a lossless video from Motion and import that into FCP but it’s also possible to render a project in FCP. I prefer the lossless way because it gives max quality and gives me a final piece of media.

Assuming you shot in 24pA. If you didn’t you’re pretty much hosed(not really but lots of work). 🙂 Here’s the workflow:

It’s pretty self explanatory- max image size is being exceeded. Perhaps the graphic is a huge PSD file? Open in Photoshop and resize it.

Those are all very basic questions you could answer for yourself as you read through the manual. We are here to help with real problems and advanced questions.

Diffusion filters can be good- depending on the style. Of course a UV filter to protect the lens is a must at all times. A graduated ND may also be useful for horizon shots.

That’s about right for a price- very much a speciality card. I’d suggest MacMall for this sort of thing.

August 11, 2005 at 5:55 pm in reply to: mixing 29.97 and 24p

No problems- 24p can be edited with its pulldown intact thus becoming 29.97. Visually it would look quite different from the standard 60i footage, frame count and edit wise it would act identically.

Just about any deck that works with FCP will read the pulldown flags- I’m assuming the Sony will too. During playback out to tape FCP does a realtime 3:2 pulldown similar to how the camera does it. 24p can exist natively in the computer and on 24p DVDs. On DV tape it’s always 29.97 via the pulldown.
