Sometimes this is indicative of a clip that was referencing a camera original. Go through and figure out precisely which one’s are missing. Confirm they actually exist in the Finder and then reimport. If they still won’t connect you may have to over-cut with the new imports.

If your main goal is a unified catalog of all of your FCPX camera archives, here’s a relatively simple and very cheap ‘hack.’
Upon creation of your camera archive, quit FCPX and select the archive in the finder and add the file extension .DMG. It can then be read directly and indexed by any folder/volume catalog application such as:

When you need to bring something back into FCPX simply change the extension back from .DMG to .fcarch and FCPX will recognize it again as an archive.

Cantemo is a highly powerful DAM and integrates well with FCPX (among many) but it’s not cheap and I would generally not suggest it for one-man shops. Axel/CatDV or a homegrown solution would be more cost-effective.

Many different ways to organize in FCPX. I would suggest continuing studies first. The power of this app lies in its organization and tagging capabilities but they are best learned through training.

Yes- as I suggested favoriting and keywording are the equivalent in FCPX to the workflow style you’re after.
Or Compound Clips, though to my eyes this is clunky because you lose direct visibility to the original media with a Compound Clip on a Project Timeline.

Unfortunately that’s more of an FCP7/Premiere Pro workflow. You cannot place projects into other projects.
Instead create one new Project timeline, then step into each Project and copy/paste contents into the master project. In the future, you want to use either Favoriting to trim to original media down to the sections you want. Or do all the trimming in a single master Project timeline.
