Has anyone seen any software for mac os x?

I know, I could just install windows and try out IVS – but we use macs in the rest of our production so a mac application would be easier.

  • That be real nice!
I have already found a couple of shots, where I need it.

I always work with TC – but my Pro-tools-guy would probably enjoy miliseconds too.

  • I went with the first program, “BWF_QT_merge”, and it’s working fine so far.

I chose it for two reasons:
    1. a lot cheaper than “Sync-n-Link for FCP”
    2. It’s a bit simpler than “Sync-n-Link for FCP”, because you don’t have to export XMLs from FCP

The only feature, I’m missing is a frame-offset function, so you could sync audio and video, that doesn’t have exactly the same TC. I you run both the camcorder TC and the audio recorder TC on the internal clock.

    thanks!

I see that both programs have trial versions, so I’ll give them a try and let you how it goes.

hmmm… I hate it when technology is behind my needs.

I wrote MacSpeech, who makes Dictate, and here is there reply:
“It is something we hope to offer in a future update, but I honestly do not have a time frame on when that feature will be released… …Just a note, even when we do release that feature, the software would only be able to know your voice in an interview with any degree of accuracy. Unless you train your subjects as well, the accuracy rates will fall a bit with an unknown voice. Just something to keep in mind going forward.”

So I guess typist are the only solution for now.

iMovie captured everything. And I now have all my tapes, with errors, in FCP.

    Thanks!!

yup – the cheap bastards at work bought the version without firewire.
I think I’ll keep using my good old Powerbook and it’s PCMCIA port.

    thanks for your help!

I wasn’t aware of a Firewire port on the AJ-PCD20.

I don’t normally use it, and I borrowed it from a PC-Avid setup. That setup only uses USB2, and I think the metalpanel covers the firewire port – because I didn’t see one.

When I get back to work tuesday I’ll screw the AJ-PCD20 apart and test the transfer-speed via Firewire.

    Thanks!

  • super!

I gave the clips reel #, and now, there is no problem.

    Thank a lot
