I just came home and looked for the temporal keyframing and just realized that its not possible for the Transform parameters. Now I remember why I never used it, because it was never there, and I simply forgot about it. For opacity and other effects it works. As far as I can tell its only possible to use spatial interpolation with the Transform parameters. Reading through Larry Jordan’s blog again I realize that the explanation only deals with opacity.

Hehe:-) I just realized I haven’t used the temporal interpolation since 10.1, I was not thinking about that.
Bret, I agree there is some weird bugs with the keyframing and the interface needs improving. Personally I feel it works very well for the style I’m currently animating, only using spatial interpolation, lately I’ve been having fun combining keyframes with compound clips and transitions. If I do need some more complex animations or I have more time I prefer using Motion anyway.
Perhaps I like FCPX keyframing since I’m comparing it to my experiences I’ve had with Avid or FCP7, animating in both always felt very tedious to me.

Click on the transform button in the viewer, then you should see keyframes and the animation path. ctrl click the keyframes.

Compound clip is the solution, also a good way to trim or cut generators without affecting the speed.

The Ken burns starts and stops like that by default, there’s no way to change that. It is a specific type of animation that works very well in news and documentary when you need a “classical” movement and it gives you a straight zoom no matter what format you image is.
The way to trim the ken burns zoom would be to apply it to the clip and make a compound from it. Then you can trim or cut the compound clip.

To correct my last advice: its for the situations when you have two different clips. In your case you need to simply blur the edges.

Blur the edges.
With a perfect kamera lighting setup you shouldn’t see much of a line, but a lot of times its not possible, especially when shooting outoors. The easiest way would be to blur the edges, or if its not very much, simply reposition one of the shots to match the other.

The Effect Browser Thumbnails are probably created when skimming through effects, FCPX probably needs to generate something to be able to preview effects.
Render Files, Peaks Data, Thumbnail Cache and Effects browser Thumbnails can be deleted without a problem. The program will generate them anyway once you open X. You would need to re- render your project, but that’s not a problem.
Your Events and Projects residing on your External drive have nothing to do with the folders in your internal drive. Anything important to your edit is in the external drive in your Events and Projects folder, nowhere else.
I’m guessing (editor – not computer expert) that the Effect Browser Thumbnails are generated in the internal drive when you skim effects but don’t use them, so the thumbnails aren’t linked to a specific event.
I would recommend Event Manager X to organize your Events and Projects, and its best to move and delete render files from within FCPX.
