Panasonic has no 1/2 chip camcorders on offer as of now. Just 1/3 & 2/3.

    Trevor:

You have alot to learn. Congrats on your first foray into pro camera world. Make sure it’s not your last. As Mike said, spend some time with your camera before doing a job with it.

Im sure your eyes did not see it but 2/3 chip cameras produce much less noise, as well the feature set you get with these higher end cam are worth every penny. from menu features to real lenses to that extra little latitude you get in post when CC-ing, all worth it.

Broadcast networks(from my understanding, correct me if i’m wrong) dont accept stuff shot on anything other than 2/3 sensors.
I’m wondering when that will take a back seat as the newer cheaper cameras are becoming more efficient. lets wait and see.

    ok thats cool:

but, if Kona & Xena are the same, then is there a possibility that the boards will handle the avi files like nobody’s bizness. cuz i think that article was for ppl using FCP as a stand alone piece of editing software. Correct me if im wrong.

Will the boards drive the footage?

Not really coming from the camera , just wanted to get the 300 for an episodical project i’ve been planning for a while.

The other camer we use is a RED. so instead of getting ANTON’s which i like alot, it’s actually more cost effective to get an IDX set so we can swap batteries @ will and not worry about stuff like chargers etc.

there is an IDX adapter Anton to Vmount for sale at B&H . It’s like $125, im getting it cuz we use V mount batteries on another camera, so we can swap batteries @ will and not get a whole new set.

    mmmm interesting:
    Thanks alot Matthew

gonna be using a Steadicam for most of the shooting, will be mounting a Letus elite on it as well.

But i intend to use it to shoot music videos as well, now that i think is going to be a problem. Been using my HVX200 rigged up with a Letus extreme, the combination performs flawlessly and the footage is beautiful.

any kind of flashing light wont bode well for this cam, @ least so it seems. Would like Jan to jump in here as well. Wanna hear all sides.
