I had the same issue. I would uninstall Quicktime 7.7.6, remove the K-lite codec pack and then install Quicktime 7.6.5 and if everything returns to normal, do not update Quicktime! My issue was with later versions of Quicktime and I have not had any need for the later versions.

April 4, 2018 at 9:36 pm in reply to: OT: Prevent copying of USB’s containing MP4 videos possible?Frank, the short answer is no. They all seem to offer some sort of encryption, but that meant the resulting file was no longer compatible for playback on media players or TV’s as it created a .exe file that could not be copied. There was another offering some kind of hardware lock that would prevent copying but it was expensive and communicated with your ‘home base’ server or similar, from memory. It was quite expensive. At the end of the day, I had to accept the fact that copying would occur.

[Scott Francis] “Are you saying MVP15 isn’t as friendly with larger track counts, or you load stuff into SVP13 and then open in 15?
“No. I was just trialling it to see how it would behave with projects created in V13 and opened in V15. Previously 216 was unstable and would not autosave. Both seem to have improved. I am still working in V13 as I need to use the Vegasaur Video4YouTube plugin.

The latest release 261 seems to be a bit more stable. Release 216 would not autosave and would always crash on quitting the program. My plugins (pluraleyes 4.1 and Vasst Ultimate S Pro 4.x) seem to work okay, but I had to get the installer from Vasst from John Rofrano. Pluraleyes has a known ‘fix’ to get it to work in SVP15.
I am doing my heavy multicam editing (4+ hour, 3 track projects) in SVP13 using 50p 50 mbps MP4 and 50p 25 mbps m2ts files and then importing them into SVP15 to see how it behaves. So far so good… .

[Derek Charles] “Also, aren’t most up to date DVD players equipped to where when inserted, an option comes up as if it were a USB stick or just reading the data off of the disc”
Technically , no. That’s not part of the DVD standard. Some players will play DIVX, MOV or WMV straight off a disc, but they are proprietary and uncommon nowadays. For those that do, there is usually a logo on the player. If you are authoring DVD’s for public sale, it’s best to stick to the standard.
When you author a DVD in DVD Architect, Nero or Power DVD, they convert your files into BUP, VOB and IFO files and create a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS structure that DVD players instantly recognise.

[John Rofrano] “Your only option is to charge a lot of money for that one copy”
I did consider that model after the fact to sell to the team coach, who could then make copies as they pleased. Maybe in 3 years time when the competition returns to Queensland… .
I was asked at the 11th hour and 59th minute to record a synchronised ice skating competition, of which my daughter is one of the competitors, as the organisers had issues with previous vendors.
The most recent unsuccessful vendor used a Vimeo streaming only model that prevent downloading, which many purchasers objected to.

I would suspect the size/quality of the lens would play an important part. Those lenses are tiny!
