Vegas hits 100% CPU and quits responding
Im new to vegas pro and can’t figure out why i can’t go 5 seconds without it crashing. Using a Dell XPS with i7. I’ve messed with all the setting on the preview and nothing changes. every time i make a simple change or anything i have to save it because it will soon crash.
i finally got my first video done. very basic. and i have tried a few times to render it and none of them have made it past 9%
what is my issue here!?

Something you have installed is conflicting with Vegas!
Also you haven’t mentioned which version of Vegas you are using.Steve Rhoden (Cow Leader)

Does anyone have advice for how to “set up Vegas” so it crashes less? are there places to assign how much Ram is used, how much is retained in cache, etc etc? I often wonder if Vegas crashes because it’s storing too much junk. Also, is there a place where you can clear out past edit memory? Or limit how much of that junk it holds onto?
Is there a place to read BEST PRACTICES for using Vegas?
