Hay Jorma. Thanks for the reply.
My problem was not the length of the clip. I was trying to use Pan and Crop to scroll the text, not the Location/ positioning thing that Mike talked of…..’cause I could not find it. 🙁 Now I have found what he was talking about, it works fine.

I posted a reply thinking that you were referring to Pro. I was wr….wrrr….wrrr…wrong. Jorma put me right, in that it looks one way one place and another way another place. shudder.
However, I am not sure that what you suggest allows scrolling of text that is bigger than the screen, so I can do a long list of stuff, not just a screenful.

[Brad Leigh] “This file stutters and the audio is out of sync. On my i5 I get about 10 FPS. Noticing it’s 30 fps in my 29.97 session, I set playback speed at .999. Still slow and stuttering.
So I try to render that clip to a new file and import that. I choose a Mainconcept 720p. That worked but looked bad like this.I can’t help, but these are the questions I have, which I think may help.
The example you posted is a very small file size (37KB) and quite blurred, so it’s hard to tell exactly what the difference is, for me.
Do you mean the video stutters in Vegas Preview? What do the project properties say about frame size? The actual source file is quite small.
Or do you mean it stutters after render?
[Brad Leigh] ”
I chose 720p because in vegas I think under properties it said 600 x ?? and it said progressive, so I thought that was the closest. The file was given to me so I have no idea where it comes from, or how it was made.
Thank you”The original as shown by QT’s Movie Inspector in your post is 800*450. But that should not matter.

February 21, 2013 at 9:00 am in reply to: Media generator: Placement, Efffects and Properties tabs?Hay thanks Jorma! Wow that was confusing. In the Tute Video it was not showing Legacy Text at all (Just Text), but it had the tabs.
In the Text Editor, it has a little thing that lets you drag the text around on a small square, _sort_ of like the Legacy text. It was hidden in a closed arrow setup. In many ways it’s better than the Legacy Text, as you can also drag it in the preview screen.
I was starting to think it was something like this, but I just could not find those tabs!
Anyway, thanks again

[George Burgess] “Hello i am using vegas pro 12 and dxtory to record my videos and have been for the past few months and am wondering why it now says when i try and drop a video file in vegas ‘none of the file can be opened’ or something i dont know if there is something i installed or an update that might of changed it but i need someones help on this and also i output in either .avi or .mp4 so any help would be very nice.
“
Steve’s idea is certainly worth looking at.
But… I am a bit confused. This is not a new thing, but at the moment you are the cause of it 😀
There are two sorts of this error. the first is that the file you are trying to use is not editable by Vagas. the second is if Vegas cannot find the files on your machine. This will happen not when you drop a file, but when you try to open a project. I mention this because ‘none of the file can be opened’ sounds like it’s trying to open a lot of files, yet you say it’s popping up when you try to drop in a file.
What is the exact message you are getting from Vegas when it fails?

[John Rofrano] “Movie Studio Platinum has never shipped with CineForm or a CineForm template so where are you seeing this template? What is it called?”
It’s not a template. It’s a choice under the “Video for Windows (avi) rendering option. I can see …umm…Micro$oft Video 1, Cineform, Sony YUV, Intel YUV etc etc in a selection list for Video Format. But Cineform just says no codec.

[John Rofrano] “I’m confused. You have the paid version of CineForm? Which CineForm product?”
Ah. Sorry. I thought it was some version of Vegas we were talking about.

[Vernon Lancaster] “same problem as you – download the trial version of the full fat software (not the free version) and you can render (at least this worked for me in vegas 12) – it appears the free version only gives you decoding – not encoding, after the trial finishes then it disables the dll’s and you can’t render again.”
I don’t have the free version at all. All paid up. Every other codec is available, just not Cineform

[John Rofrano] “No, Vegas Pro has no option for CineForm. If you have that option, it’s because you created a template in some previous version of Vegas Pro. I would create a new CineForm template if you are using an old one. I have found render templates from previous versions of Vegas Pro causing problems with CineForm. To make a new one you can follow my tutorial: Create a CineForm Render Template in Sony Vegas Pro”
I don;t have Pro, just Platinum Suite. This PC is a cleanskin. Brand new, with no previous copies of Vegas on it. It’s really puzzling.
However in the light of your and Steve’s comments, I might just stop getting bitter and twisted about it! 🙂
