Did you by any chance updated Vegas recently to the newest version?

Steve’s idea is certainly worth looking at.

But… I am a bit confused. This is not a new thing, but at the moment you are the cause of it 😀

There are two sorts of this error. the first is that the file you are trying to use is not editable by Vagas. the second is if Vegas cannot find the files on your machine. This will happen not when you drop a file, but when you try to open a project. I mention this because ‘none of the file can be opened’ sounds like it’s trying to open a lot of files, yet you say it’s popping up when you try to drop in a file.

What is the exact message you are getting from Vegas when it fails?

I have recently moved up from Vegas pro 11 to Vegas pro 12 but it would not work on 11 either and also the full and correct message is ‘none of the files dropped on Vegas pro could be opened’.

I dont see why i suddenly stopped working?

Ok, since it isnt the new vegas build causing your issue,
Did you install any codecs or audio software recently?

Sometimes if all else fails, a system restore can help.
