January 2, 2014 at 5:53 am in reply to: can the Kona Lhi be fitted into the brand new mac pro desktop???Sorry I read your post too quickly. I saw that you included more options. Could you recommend a good Firewire 400 card for that enclosure?

January 2, 2014 at 5:50 am in reply to: can the Kona Lhi be fitted into the brand new mac pro desktop???Thanks again Jeremy. The only problem is that the Apple Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter is Firewire 800. My Sony tape deck only has a Firewire 400 port.
My tape deck is the Sony HVR-M35U HDV VTR

January 2, 2014 at 3:55 am in reply to: can the Kona Lhi be fitted into the brand new mac pro desktop???Thanks very much for replying Jeremy. Quick question regarding Sonnet Technologies Echo Express III-D. Do you know if it has a firewire port?
I haven’t seen a photos of the back of the unit. The only way I can control my Sony HD DVR tape deck (from Final Cut Pro 7 or Premiere Pro CC) is through firewire. Using my Kona LHi card, I have to ingest and upconvert a number of mini DV tapes. But I need to be able to jog shuttle through my tapes. In FCP7 and PPCC, I can only do this through firewire. Even though I have an HD SDI cable running from my Sony DVR tape deck to my Kona LHi, I had no deck control from within FCP7 or PPCC until I plugged in a firewire cable.

December 26, 2013 at 3:49 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC bug??? title in title window displays as completely different title on timelineThank you for your feedback Larry. Actually now that I’m option dragging it is working. But I’ll follow your advice and probably stop renaming them, that maybe causing an issue, not sure. I guess I’ll just end up with a lot of “…copy of copy of copy” but that’s ok.
I do wish Adobe would update and improve that part of PPCC. If it were only as simple as it were in FCP7 – being able to copy and paste and then modify is a no brainer. Something as basic as adding text on V2 shouldn’t have to be so complex. Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed that Adobe will improve on this.

December 24, 2013 at 1:51 am in reply to: Premiere Pro CC bug??? title in title window displays as completely different title on timelineHi Larry,
This is driving me insane. Because I’m doing it that way but still encountering the same issue. I am option dragging and releasing, but seeing the same duplicated title. If I have to create each subtitle from scratch that will take so much longer: altering the font size, color, location on screen, every single time for each subtitle. I hope to God there’s another workaround. Otherwise what should take minutes will end up taking an hours. I can’t believe this hasn’t been improved.
Premiere Pro is an amazing program, so much better than it used to be. I just wish subtitling were less cumbersome. The weird thing is the same subtitle shows two completely different lines according to what part of the subtitle has been rendered on the render bar. Please see this other post I made on the issue here on Adobe’s forum:

August 25, 2013 at 8:25 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC: Fast Color Corrector: recommended black/white luminance input levels???Thanks Ivan. Just one final question regarding skin tones and IRE. Is there a rule of thumb for where Caucasian skin tones should fall on the 0-100 IRE scale?
I called Canon yesterday, and they recommended that when shooting in C-Log, Caucasian skin tones should be in the 40% to 60% IRE range on the waveform monitor, (but closer to 60% than 40%). Thanks again.
