where are you seeing the judder?
on a TV?

it REALLY helps if you can hook your iMac up to a TV as well, so you can spot the problems at the source.

if it really is a field based issue, the only advice i could possibly give without seeing it would be to take your export, and de-iterlace the whole thing.

or put your final sequence into another sequence, thereby nesting it, and apply de-interlace to the nest

Nattress Smart de-interlace is the best for use within FCP

i dont know about those files, but….

how are you doing the export?
(and what format is your media & FCP sequence? ProRes, one hopes, or at least NOT h264)

recommended is to export from FCP as a QuickTIme movie, then compress that to a deliverable format.

what format did you transcode to with Log & transfer?

it seems as if you might have the original card media on the same drive as your transcodes,
and Reconnect is finding that.

maybe you need to use “Locate” and direct FCP to the transcodes

OR
make sure the new file path is identical to the old one,
same folder structure
AND that includes naming the drive exactly the same.

then there should be no problem at all.

maybe make a COPY of the sequence in FCP,
and delete all the contents.

it’ll be a much leaner XML.

there’s a menu item to turn video names off & on and another to turn audio names off & on.

cant remember exactly where it is, but i’d look under the VIEW menu.

i tend to open the button list (option J from memory,
do a search for “Name”
then drag the appropriate button to my timeline.

coul be to do with Teomplates

TEP has to make titles for you.
but you have to tell it how you want them formatted.
what font, what point size,

what Generator even, as is which SORT of FCP title.
plain old “text”?
outline text?

or maybe one of the 3rd party subtitle generators, like Spherico’s own Text Up Pro,
or the one from Digital Heaven.

so you put your preferred text in an FCP timeline, export an XML,
and in TEP you ad that to a bank of Templates.

yeah, i used it, and it worked.
but you don’t export the markers as text,
you export an XML from the sequence, and open that in TEP.

in TEP there’s a whole lot of option for your “IN” format and your “OUT” format.
from memory you want to import a XML Marker (FCP) and export XML (FCP) if you want to geet it back into FCP

are you on a network with your other copy of FCP open?

and even that is almost more trouble than it’s worth!

with stereo, no, you can only solo a track in the timeline.
