we might be talking about the same thing.
in the mixer tool, which fader did you work?
the one marked Master, on the far right?that affects the level of the sequence itself,
and won’t travel if you copy the clips OUT of that sequence and into another one.the faders from the left, marked A1, A2, etc affect the level of the individual clips
this levels WILL travel with the clips when you copy them.so if you were adjusting the master level, what can you do?
not much.
if it was a simple lift by Xdb then you can just add that to your clips,
but if you were riding the level, you’re a bit lost,
unless, as you suggest, you use the sequences as nestsnick

a simple copy and paste from one sequence to another will keep any effects you’ve added, including audio levels.
are you finding otherwise? then you have a problem,
and should maybe trash your preferences.oh, hang on, did you adjust the MASTER LEVEL of the sequences?
yeah that won’t work!
nesting will, but once you get past your simple export, presents other problems.nick

When things get weird in FCP it;s time to trash your preferences.
you’ll have to re-set them of course… who wants to go back to only 10 undo’s for instance?

the other products to look into are:
Blackmagic Intensity Pro ($199),
Blackmagic Decklink Mini Monitor ($145)the intensity would give you audio outputs as well
