I’m having the same trouble but with the stabilize feature. The tracker isn’t as accurate as it could be, even with a very contrasty selection point, strong perpediculars, and differing sizes of object selection and search areas.
I think Dave could be right. It’s the interlacing that’s causing the 1 or 2 pixel shift, which translates to a nasty jitter when applied to the whole picture.
I’ll have a bit of a play round over the next couple of days and see if that’s the problem.
I’m using PAL footage, and so far, all the information available on the web – tutorials etc, are probably using NTSC, so I wonder if there’s a clue there.
If there’s no way of getting a better track, I thought perhaps you could delete say, every 4th key frame and apply easy ease. It would decrease accuracy but at least that the track would appear less jittery.
Anyone with any other suggestions?
