    I had the same problem. For anyone who stumbles upon this forum a year later, this worked for me:

    1) Change workspace to one that does not use a full screen preview
    2) Click on the dropdown menu at the top right of your preview panel.
    3) Choose playback settings…
    4) Click on the dropdown menu labeled “External Device” and select none.

    Now go back to your preferred workspace and everything should be fixed.
