Hi Peter. Seems we have the same HD headache. I have clients asking for it but I hate to invest in gear until things settle down a bit. I have also been looking at the 900, but if the new 2/3″ XDCam HD is priced the same I’m afraid it may go over my budget. I guess I should be happy with 1/2″ – I would like more options on the data rate, however.

Is the 2/3 inch unit a definite or is that rumor also? When is the IBC meeting?

Thanks, Floh, for all of your help in this forum (I see you’re the lone moderator now). I have to admit that I’d pretty much decided to go with FCP exclusively, but things are definitely looking brighter for the Media 100 systems. Do you think Boris can can get new customers or is his market pretty much limited to existing M100 people?

Ahh, that is good news. Guess I should have scrolled down the forum a little further.
Question: I’m most impressed with M100 HDs ability to throw nearly any format on the timeline. Is this also possible with FCP and an AJA card?Nick Lammers

I think what they are saying is that the matte finish on the monitor gives a more accurate representations, while the glossy finish may make things look “prettier.” Personally, I think I would also like the anti-glare coating, which is not available on the glossy screen.
I’m no photographer, so I don’t know if a comparison between how your prints look as glossy/matte vs. a computer screen is of use or not.

I reinstalled the drivers, transcoder and keyspan serial assistant and everything (as far as I know) is fine.

OK. Thanks Wayne. And here I was going to get real mad at my computer. I’ll just bring it in as native DV and do an export as DV 50 – seems unnecessary but it’ll keep the client happy.
I keep waiting for Apple to release their Intel desktops so I can buy a bunch of new toys.
