Thanks to squarebox support’s super fast response here’s what they said:

i think your workset file may have become corrupt this is the list of all your worker tasks

to fix stop the worker rename the file from workset.xml to something else – eg workset_old_feb27.xml and either restart worker which will automatically create a new workset file or replace it with the workset.bak file

you’ ‘ll find the workset file here

The worker.xml and workset.xml files are located at:

    PC

    C:\Users\?USER NAME?\AppData\Local\Square Box\worker.xml
    C:\Users\?USER NAME?\AppData\Local\Square Box\worksetr.xml
    MAC

    MAC /Users/?USER NAME?/Library/Application Support/worker.xml
    MAC /Users/?USER NAME?/Library/Application Support/workset.xml

Yeah, its strange, we don’t use clip markers. This happens strictly when logging text thru the verbatim logger…and adding timecode, but no markers. When finished with the verbatim logger and saving, the text shows up in the notes field…but when we publish to server, it disappears. I can only get this to happen on the client (producer) computers. Maybe its a bug?

    Thanks,

    Nick

Yes, it is showing up in the event markers. Is there a way to turn this option off?

    Thanks!

Silly question, but can you use CTRL instead of Shift to highlight your clips?

Turned out I had to turn on the “Force (prefer over original)” setting in Proxies., now verbatim works fine.

Talk about late in the game: we have over 16 years of footage that needs cataloging!

As far as the verbatim logger goes, we don’t have the web client, so I can’t answer that. I would hope that it would work.

Hi Brad, we almost went with Phoenix, but not being able to test-drive was a problem. Also, I was a little concerned about the company being around in 15 years. However, it’s an all-in-one solution which is nice. CatDV hits you with separate client licenses and you need 3rd party plug ins, and a separate LTO, so it does add up. And its not perfect, I get crashes sometimes, and our loggers get frustrated with the verbatim logger and other problems (see my post from today). With that said, its the best solution out there right now. I recommend getting a full trial on catdv and take it for a spin. Good luck!
