    Figured this issue out.

Using the additive compositing technique I was able to re-build the ‘Beauty’ pass using C4D renders only.

    Multi-Passes in C4D:
    Separate Lights – All/Mode(doesn’t matter)/Shaddow Correction checked
    Ambient Occlusion
    RGBA Image
    Global Illumination
    Specular
    Refraction
    Reflection
    Shadow

Ordering should look like this in while compositing in AE: (top to bottom)
    RGBA – Stencil Alpha
    AO – Multiply
    Refraction – Add
    Reflection – Add
    Global Illumination – Add
    Lights – Add
    Shadow – Multiply
    Specular – Normal

In C4D make sure in the render settings you set ‘sparate lights’ to ‘ALL’ and check ‘shadow correction.
This will render out a pass for each light separately and allow for more flexibility in post.

If anyone else has other compositing techniques please feel free to add.

    Cheers!
    -Nick

Was this ever resolved by any chance?
