Do I have to run the 5d footage through cinema tools? What if I just have compressor set to 29.97 when I transcode to Prores? Thanks for your help.

  • I’m having the same problem. Reconnecting the media doesn’t help anything. Any luck finding a solution?

You have to copy the text from the embed code into the post. It seems odd but it works. The uploaded is really just an image hosting tool.
    Thanks

Here’s a screen shot. It is burned on to the image. So far no luck in minimizing the text. I’ll post info if I have any luck. Thanks for all your help.

These are the two entries in the A1U user manual that I think are pertinent to the problem. I love everyone’s optimism, but I’m not sure I share it. Apparently the guy that was messing with the settings called Sony today and they told him him that it was imprinted on the video. Apparently this feature is intended for legal proceedings and law enforcement use? I’ll know more when I get a tape. Thanks again for everyone’s advice.

I haven’t actually seen the footage yet. The problem was first discovered when a tape was played back in a different camera.

The option that was accidently turned on in the menu is called “DATE REC” – “Superimpose the date and time directly on the pictures when recording.”

I think we’re screwed. I’ll be getting a tape in the mail tomorrow.
    Thanks for your help

After reading Gabe’s suggestion I went to go do a “Save As” of a project, basically creating a duplicate that had been save in the Leopard environment. Hoping that when I reopened FCP and opened the new project everything would be fine. Well, I didn’t have to do anything I opened one of the projects that had been giving me problems and everything worked fine? All effects are working. I had already run the Login & keychain Access Update, but that shouldn’t have done anything to fix this? Anyway everything seems to be working fine. Now I’m nervous to save a project in leopard for fear of these problems coming back. Anyone else experiencing anything similar, or know anything more about this “known problem”? Thanks.

Yes I did it in the middle of a project. But its fine I’m back to working off my old system drive. Everything still works fine in Tiger. My screen shot wasn’t very good, in that the same clip the playhead is on in the timeline. I have no third party plugins. It does’t seem to be just FXplugins. Even color Mattes come up as failed to render??? I’ll try motion, but I’m leaving for the weekend soon, so i might not post again till sunday. Thanks
