  • the arrowhead is part of the image (an EPS), and thus, only appears at the end. And yes, it is being continuously rasterized. However, I’ve found that when I uncheck that box to make it continually rasterized, the arrowhead appears when it should, but since it’s not rasterized, the arrow and arrowhead are quite pixellated and thus no good.

  • Sorry if I wasn’t clear before, but that’s the problem – when I look at the comp with Camera 1, the arrowhead doesn’t show up until the camera pulls back to it’s full screen position. When I get to where the arrowhead should be using Camera 1, it looks like the first picture above, but when I pull the camera back, it gradually reveals to show the whole arrowhead (the second image). The full arrowhead shows up perfectly when using the Front View, but the final render will be using Camera 1.

    Make that 960×720, not 702

Sorry – guess that would help.

Footage and sequence are both DVCPRO HD 720p60, 960×702, 23.98 fps in FCP 7.0.3

It turns out the problem was that the connection speed at the office wasn’t fast enough to download the file before the network timed out the download. It had to be done on an external line – probably would have been faster to go to Starbucks with a laptop.

April 5, 2012 at 6:25 pm in reply to: Hoodman Adapter locks and unlocks

    Brent:

Yes, I have three Sony cards (2-16 GBs and 1-32 GB) which get most of the work. I usually try to have one Hoodman and one Sony when I shoot and alternate which one I use, cause I don’t want to wear out the Sony (not sure that is even possible, but I do it anyways…keeps me sane, more or less). And, yes, the firmware is up to date, too…

If it’s the connections inside the camera/on the adapter, then shouldn’t the adapter not work all the time? Cause they all (with the exception of one) perform erratically…

    Ronnie:

I do have Hoodman cards in Hoodman adapters, but I’ve even had those lock on me. It really is random when a card will/won’t work and it’s never (at least that I have found…yet) been from a specific brand of SDHC card. And I agree, I never remove the SDHC from the adapter while connected to the camera – just doesn’t seem like the camera would appreciate that.

Thanks for your help with this!

Thanks Grant! I’m checking out the free trial now and going through the testing phase. I do like how many different controls there are for everything – I’m just a little new to the whole image stabilization thing, so it may take me some time to perfect it for my needs (think a mix of basketball and gymnastics), but thanks for the recommendation!
