Feel free to elaborate. What does that mean exactly? How and where are you NOT working with timecode in FCP X where it is “central to workflow”? And how do you suppose these guys (as one of the more prominent of many many examples) are working around this supposed shortcoming? https://apple.co/1hrM6zb

Every format, codec, camera, etc. but by the time i get my hands on it – its all DNXHDxxx.

Cool story but did i think the video was well shot or cut? – not at all.

Either way, some usefull stuff in there.. nested audio FX – audio grouping, GPU assisted R3D.
Avid has been developing at a great pace lately. Looking fwd to the future.

Im an avid “die hard” and I just turned 36. I know all the software packages including FCPX. I stay up to date.Call me crazy but I still choose Avid. The places Ive worked all choose Avid. I mkae more scrilla using an Avid. What can you do?
Every big corporation’s has layoffs. I’ve skated through 5 of them myslef and seen great friends lifes change in an instant after 20 years of solid serice. Its just the way it works when that much money if flowing around and someone has an idea on how to save more.

And hate to point out the obvious but keyword here is “upgrade”.
When was the last FCPX one? The 3 other NLE’s are growing at a crazy rate these date, yea even Avid.
I’m worried Apple wont be able to keep up with the rest of the pack.

Have you used Avid’s proxy mode in 8.5 and up? Pretty slick – one button – automatic back and forth. Works as advertised.

Have a hard time buying 8k native on a imac, especially “a few generations old”.
Benn on much more capable systems that stutter with 4k RAW.

First time I ever heard of one being used at an event that was functionally “open to the public” rather than with some select group of insiders.Basically, the only “barrier” between any individual and the event (presuming access to Las Vegas and free time yesterday) was enough personal interest and free time to sign up and attend.
As far as I’m aware, you didn’t even need an NAB Badge
Whoever said a huge part of life is just showing up? Kinda nailed it this time.
