Just tried with Vegas 12….still doesn’t work! Have to run the rendered m2ts through ts muxer, and then it works fine. Wow Sony…wow.
Any chance using the old project file matters? What am I supposed to do…completely re edit the video?

Looks like Vegas Pro 10 is out! Anyone have a chance to try this yet? Can it actually render a 1920x1080i avchd m2ts file and actually play on devices without TS Muxer?!?! Oh the suspense!

Any updates on this problem? I’ve given up even trying until I hear that Vegas can render 1080i AVCHD.

I opened a ticket with them, and the guy said he couldn’t reproduce the problem. I wrote back saying I had just rendered at 1080i AVCHD, default settings….and it’s having the problem!
They never wrote me back, so maybe they’re in denial at this point?

I’ll have to try that Arnar. Clearly there is something broken with their muxer.

This is freaking ridiculous now. Are we sure that Sony is actually aware of the problem? Doesn’t seem like it would be a hard thing to fix. What are they doing?

Norman, I’ve said it is 1080i from the very beginning. As far as I know, there are zero 1080p AVCHD consumer cams that shoot at 60fps. Not a one. The canons (and maybe some others) can shoot at 1080p/30, but definitely not 60.

They are advertised as “1920×1080 FULL HD,” but they are all 1080i/60, or 1080p/30.
