  • He’s sent me a .DRP file as well. We originally thought an XML would work kind of like how Premiere takes an XML, but that makes sense that I would need the .DRP as well to see the color edits.

However, when I open the .DRP file, nothing seems to happen. Is the order of importation:

    1. Open Project
    2. Import Media

…or is it vice versa? Or neither?

  • Tim,

Thanks for the response. The RED footage was shot at 5K widescreen originally, and that’s the footage we’re editing with here.

The editor is retired and does some freelance work on the side. He’s insanely good at what he does. His skill-set lies in his inherent ability to truly fine-tune a cut, providing absolute clarity and the best possible story-telling.

That being said…I could teach him how to use Premiere Pro, but he is so set on the hotkeys and workflow of FCP that he doesn’t want to waste time learning Premiere. Budget doesn’t cover the time needed to teach him a new editing software.

There should be a simple way to convert these files to proxies within the XML. I know it exists. I just haven’t done it before.

Thanks to anyone in advance once again who can provide some clear steps!

  • i think you’re absolutely right…I’m using ProEXR Trial Version. Strangely it’s not giving me the option to fix this.
