I have saved up my little pennies for as long as I can remember now but im stuck with the fear of making a mistake!!

I was set out to get the –
*Mac Pro
8 Core 2×2.8GHz Quad-Core Xeon
2GB memory
320GB hard drive
16x double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512MB = $high 3’s

which I am very lucky to use at work.
I run Final Cut, After Effects, DSP, Photoshop +
It is very fast and reliable.

Now I am getting confused with the newer versions that are coming out like the

Quad-Core
One 2.66GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor
3GB (three 1GB) memory
640GB hard drive 1
18x double-layer SuperDrive
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 with 512M = $middle 4’s

ok ok – So I am TRYING to export Mpeg 2s Multiplexed 720×576 16:9. Every-time I export I see the footage as 720×404? I am entering my works ads competition and their requirements are 720×576 16:9. I have tried everything and it is due now! Just have to get them in my midnight tonight. Somebody out there can put me straight again..?

Sorry to get in on this thread but unless I am missing something very simple all I see is a black screen when I try and play back the converted clip? I just got this program so I can convert 32 PAL commercials to NTSC and it just aint working…?? help.. please… ?

Sometimes you just need someone to say which book or what ever to get. A lot of info out there, it can bend ones brain a little at times.
