Fist of all, I actually use Ae CS3, and secondly, this is the first time this problem has somehow came up, for example I was working on a project with AE a few months ago and everything worked fine, so whatever is wrong now, must be a result of different project settings, changes that have been made in the AE preferences or something similar.

I’ve tried other codecs now and they seem to act even worse. ffdshow and DV doesn’t let me render at all says “invalid compression size (53::35) while cinepac manages to export, but after that, the file cannot be played or imported to AE. Something seems to messed up with the AE codecs, because even if I try to export(not render) different composition with different import files, and import it back to AE, the outcome is the same(it manages to import, but only audio playback is available).

    Output module settings>Main Options>Video output>Format options>Compressor>No compression

Graham:I’m not sure where to look for the codecs, thought it was indicated by DV/DVCPRO-NTSC, where should I look for those?

Dave:I’m actually using AE CS3 and using the render queue didn’t actually help, so the problem must be somewhere else.

Anyway, when the movie clips are converted to .wmv with a video converter, AE recognizes it fine, like other .avi or different format clips, that weren’t exported from AE. I, however, would like to leave the converting solution till there’s nothing else left, because converting such a big quantity of high quality files would really take a lot of time.

The weird thing is that all the media players can open the video files properly, while AE can’t even recognize its own. I have tried to reinstall the codec pack, but it didn’t help. Any other suggestions?
